► 5 Steps to Installing a Remote Starter into your Ford F-150:

Step 1: Unplug the gateway connector from the rear of the vehicle's OBD2 module located on the lower left side of the driver's side dash and plug it into the corresponding female plug on the T-harness: Replace the vehicle's gateway plug with the plug from the T-harness...

Step 2: Plug the blue plug from the T-harness into the blue plug on the remote starter module; in response, the Red LED on the module will light up, indicating power to the module...

Step 3: Now, activate the system: Turn the ignition ON (do not start the vehicle); in response, when the LED goes from Red to Solid Green and then turns off, turn the ignition OFF, remove the key, and exit the vehicle. Close all the vehicle's doors and lock the doors with the vehicle's remote...

Step 4: Now it's time to test remote start activation: Slowly press the LOCK button 3 times on your keyless entry remote:  After the vehicle remote starts, let it test run for at least a minute. Then unlock the vehicle with the remote, enter the vehicle, and press & release the vehicle's brake pedal...in response, the engine will shut down...

Step 5: Lastly, secure both the T-harness and module up under the driver's dash using the supplied zip ties. DONE!
 

► Ford Remote Start Safety & Security Features:

• Brake Pedal Monitoring for Security: The vehicle's steering column remains locked, and the remote starter will immediately shut down if the brake pedal is stepped on before the ignition is turned on with a key.
   
• Open Hood Monitoring for Safety: The remote start will not activate with the hood open and will immediately shut down if the hood is opened while the vehicle is running by the remote starter. The vehicle must be equipped with an OEM hood pin switch to enable this feature.
   
• Equipped with the same OEM safety and operating restrictions as Ford's factory-installed remote starters:  The system will detect any current or stored fault codes, which will prevent the remote starter from activating. If the hood is open, the transmission is not in park, the vehicle's battery voltage is too low, the low fuel light is on, the check engine light is on, or any stored DTC codes (no visual lights on the dash) will prevent the system from activating (you can also consult your vehicle's owners/operators manual).
   
• Entrance security and safety: In addition, on most Ford vehicles, depending on how the OEM ECM was configured, it will only allow key takeover to be performed within an allotted amount of time after entering the vehicle. This time span can range from 45 seconds to 4 minutes before the engine will shut down if the key takeover procedure has not been performed (i.e., enter and turn your vehicle's ignition on).
   
• Fail-Safe Design: In the unlikely event of a component failure, the system cannot prevent you from starting your vehicle normally with a key.
